Jale Kerimol Johnson

Jale Kerimol Johnson is of dual nationality, she was raised by her British mother and Turkish father using both languages on a daily basis. She was educated in the field of addictions and completed her internship at The New Hope Foundation in New Jersey. She recieved an ICRC-AODA Chemical Dependency Associate certification through the State of New Jersey Certification Board.

She returned to Turkey in 1998 to help construct effective Addiction Treatment programs, and has succeeded. She spearheaded the first two shelter/support programs for addicted street kids for both girls and boys She designed and managed the Outpatient Addictions Treatment Program for the German Hospital in Istanbul from 1998 – 2001. From 2001 – present she has been in private practice addiction counseling with a success rate of 80% at two years. In 2002 she accepted an invitation from the Psychiatric Department of the Istanbul Medical Faculty to design and conduct a two year, 360 hour, Addictions Treatment Education Program for local medical students. This program has continually expanded from the original 20 Medical students to the last class of 70, Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing graduate students and the Istanbul Police Department Narcotics officers in six years. She has been the Turkish Radio addictions program supervisor since 1999. She is a recurrent author for Populer Psikiyatri Magazine and various local newspapers and magazines, and is regularly asked to appear on local and national television to comment on addiction related issues.
